What the agent is told

This is the skill's SKILL.md, exactly what Metaphor reads before the task.

Prefer small, surgical edits over rewrites. Match existing module style (ESM vs CJS, import extensions).

Idioms

  • Use strict TypeScript; avoid any unless the surrounding file already does.
  • Prefer async/await and Node built-ins (node:fs/promises, node:path).
  • Keep public exports stable; do not rename APIs without updating callers.
  • Colocate tests as *.test.ts next to or under test/ as the repo already does.

Testing

  • Run the package vitest suite for touched packages.
  • Prefer filesystem-safe temp dirs (fs.mkdtemp) over writing into the source tree.

Safety

  • Never commit secrets, API keys, or .env contents.
  • Do not weaken permission or four-eyes gates.
  • Paths in proposed edits must be repo-relative; no absolute paths.

How do I use typescript in Metaphor?

It is built into Metaphor. Type /typescript in the composer, or describe the task and the agent loads the skill when it fits.

What is a skill?

A skill is a set of written instructions the agent reads before it starts a kind of task. It changes how the agent works, not what it is allowed to do.
